Field tests demonstrate the importance of prism quality.


With such a large variety of prisms available on the market these days, we ran some tests in the field across several different brands to determine what those differences actually mean to the end user in a "real world" environment and what features to look for in a prism to ensure you get good "bang for your buck".

In this case, we were particularly focused on long range ATR measurements using 64mm single circular monitoring prisms to simulate a typical mining environment where a strong signal return strength is paramount to the ability of the total station to find and measure a single monitoring prism.
