Geosensors

Pangea Geosystems provides a range of Geosensors according to your requirements.

Tilt Meter

TILT METER

Tilt Meters and Tilt Sensors are used to measure the change in the angle of any wall, structure, or rock face. This makes them ideal in rail, dams, infrastructure, civil and mining industries, as well as in the monitoring of historical sites.

The results obtained from tiltmeters and tiltsensors can help determine how significantly structures are being impacted by nearby disturbances, and if those impacts are compromising the structure’s safety. This information can be vital in identifying problems before they become too dangerous or expensive to fix.

Pangea Geosystems works with Tilt Meters and Tilt Sensors by importing and integrating the output data they provide into Pangea’s custom monitoring software. Data from Tilt Meters is imported manually or alternatively, Pangea Geosystems can automate the data collection with our own power/telemetry interface as a solution.

The integration of data from Tilt Meters into Pangea’s monitoring systems, provides an additional layer of data into Pangea’s custom monitoring software, which results in a detailed report on the geotechnical situation. This report allows Geotech’s to analyse and measure performance and movements at a period of time, as well as on-going, over a project lifespan.

Pangea Geosystems can integrate a range of different Tilt Meters into their monitoring software, to provide clients with an all-in-one data solution.

VWP

VWP (Vibrating Wire Piezometers)

Piezometers are another form of geotechnical sensors that are used to measure pore water pressure (piezometric level) in the ground. It’s an important geotechnical monitoring instrument, as it measures pore water pressure in the soil, earth/rock fills, foundations, and concrete structures. It’s used for performance monitoring in mining, civil construction, and dams. Vibrating Wire Piezometers provide accurate results and reliability.

Extensormeter

EXTENSOMETER

Extensometers are a valuable safety and productivity tool in mining. Extensometers are used to measure displacements on batters/highwalls. Plotting displacement vs time enables us to determine if wall failures are imminent and hence provide a valuable safety feature. For complicated failure, further equipment prism monitoring or GNSS can be used to determine the source of movement.

Ongoing monitoring of the stability and movement of soil and rock masses is of utmost importance for the maintenance of continuous productivity within mine sites, supporting mine sites to operate at peak productivity, whilst ensuring the safety of their workers and equipment within the mine.

Pangea Geosystems supply Extensometers as a supporting tool to our overall monitoring solution. Data from Extensometers is imported manually or alternatively, Pangea Geosystems can automate the data collection with our own power/telemetry interface as a solution.

When automated, Extensometers provide alarming capability through flashing lights, email alerts and SMS alerts, instantaneously detecting sub-millimetre changes. This provides a safety alert system for mine site employees, critical for the well-being of workers, equipment, and for preserving mine-site productivity.

The integration of data from Extensometers into Pangea’s monitoring systems, provides an additional layer of data into Pangea’s custom monitoring software, which results in a detailed report on the geotechnical situation. This report allows Geotech’s to analyse and measure performance and movements and take any necessary actions to ensure the safety and productivity of the mine.
